What is a VATRE?

State law requires that school districts seek voter approval to raise their tax rate above a prescribed amount.

A voter-approval tax rate election (VATRE) is a process through which a school district seeks approval from voters to increase its maintenance and operations (M&O) property tax rate.

Why call a VATRE?

2024-2025 M&O Rate $.6969

2025-2026 M&O Rate $.6669 without VATRE

2025-2026 M&O Rate $.7369 with VATRE

The VATRE if approved by the voters, will increase this years rate by $.07 cents but will only increase the rate over last years rate by $.04.

These $.04 will generate the district $851,826 in revenue for improving the districts ability to provide quality instruction to students and help meet the districts mission of students being able to lead productive and satisfying lives.
